Ode To Katrina

she came to our land,
so powerful and wide,
she tried to destroy our dignity,
but we have too much pride,
she did destroy homes,
yes, she did destroy life,
but this is america,
we have always had to deal with strife,
we will always rebuild,
this is always true,
but it's alot easier,
with help from people like you,
katrina has left our land,
all destroyed it seems,
some have lost their hopes,
yes, some their dreams,
the next time you have problem,
you think you can't overcome,
think of all those people south of you,
that can never go HOME.
