I believe Loren Sparkman was the first male cheerleader. We had short little uniform skirts made that year (not worn in photo), and my parents heard negative feedback about our "short skirts." We kept on rebelling and wearing them.

The building in the background is the old LHS building that burned down in 1954. I remember a lot of days spent looking out those wide open windows (no a/c).
