On a late spring Delta evening, members of the Leland High School class of 1957 gathered to enjoy a reunion hosted by Walter and Karen Swain.  Their home, a grand piece of Mississippi architecture, was our setting.  We were greeted with Mint Juleps  served in the traditional silver cups as the gathering began.  Following  renewals of old friendships and good conversations we paused to remember those deceased and others not attending.  In particular we remembered the recently deceased Marie Courtney Horton.  Marie had forever been our class representative.  In fact it was Marie's nature to live her life in service of all her friends.  She is our angel and our good example.  We miss her dearly.  A blessing was asked for all of us by Walter.  The serving line was quickly filled where a delicious buffet had been prepared by a local caterer, Jo Harris.

Following our meal, desserts, and coffee, cards were signed, group photos were taken, and the idea was suggested we enjoy a seaboard cruise for our next reunion.  Dust off your nautical needs, locate your sea-legs, and plan to join us in a gala reunion at sea.  Our new class representative, Jean Thompson Edwards, who proved her ability to produce a great reunion, will be busy keeping us informed about the next time we meet.
